6th Sense Analytics provides visibility and control to distributed software development projects through the use of our hosted software solution that automatically and unobtrusively collects the software development metrics that organizations need to understand the execution of software development projects.

CSDL and 6th Sense Analytics entered into affiliation in 2006 to support the development of Hackystat.

The goal of the High Productivity Computing Systems program is to conduct a focused research and development program that creates a new generation of high productivity computing systems. These computing systems will comprise software tools, architectures, and hardware components. These systems will improve by orders of magnitude the effectiveness of humans and computers in solving the problems in the high performance computing domain.

CSDL and HPCS entered into affiliation in 2004 to conduct research on high performance computing using Hackystat.

The Maui High Performance Computing Center (MHPCC) is an Air Force Research Laboratory Center managed by the University of Hawaii.

CSDL and MHPCC entered into affiliation in 2005 through the student engagement grant program to support research on empirically guided high performance computing software development using Hackystat.

IBM is a leading provider of software, hardware, and services.

IBM sponsored research on the Jupiter code review system in 2004 through the Eclipse Innovation Grant program.

NASA is an agency of the US government responsible for the public space program.

CSDL and NASA entered into collaboration in 2002 to investigate research in highly dependable systems.

citybank

City Bank is a state-chartered bank organized under the laws of the state of Hawaii in 1959. It is now part of Central Pacific Bank.

CSDL and City Bank entered into affiliation in 2000 to support a New Economy Research grant on aligning the financial services, fulfillment distribution infrastructure, and small business sectors in Hawaii through B2B technology innovation.

sunlogo

Sun Microsystems, Inc. is a leading provider of high speed microprocessors, scalable systems, robust software, network storage, and comprehensive professional services. Sun's Developer Relations Group is charged with providing strategic outreach for Sun's key platform technologies.

CSDL and Sun Microsystems entered into affiliation in 1999 to support the development and evaluation of several Java-based software technologies, including Project LEAP, JavaWiz, MCS, and LOCC.

 digital

Digital Equipment Corporation (now a subsidiary of COMPAQ) has a 40 year history of innovation in computer technology, from the PDP-1 in 1960 to current Alpha-based systems. The Advanced Development Group is chartered to research and prototype state of the art compilation technology.

CSDL and COMPAQ/DEC entered into affiliation in 1997 to develop and evaluate Java-based software review technology as part of Project LEAP. Our joint efforts also include JavaWiz, an advanced static analysis tool for detection of Java-based programming errors.

Jennifer Geis was employed by COMPAQ/DEC for approximately one year on the development of JavaWiz.

 isern

ISERN is an international organization of approximately 30 industry, government, and academic groups dedicated to the pursuit of empirically-based software engineering research and practice.

CSDL became a member of ISERN in 1996.

CSDL is a proud sponsor of the ISERN'2000 meeting in Honolulu, HI.

Makai Ocean Engineering is a diversified ocean engineering company and has been involved in the development of sophisticated submarine cable control systems.

CSDL and Makai entered into affiliation in 1997 in order to assess and improve Makai's internal software engineering practice. Our initial work together led to a joint research project sponsored by the National Defense Center for Excellence for Research in Ocean Sciences (CEROS) for an Internet-enabled engineering tool for dynamically analyzing and planning world-wide subsea cable and array installations.

 nsf

The National Science Foundation is an independent U.S. government agency responsible for promoting science and engineering through programs that invest over $3.3 billion per year in almost 20,000 research and education projects in science and engineering.

CSDL has been supported by four grants from the National Science Foundation. Our first grant, from 1991-1993, supported research in software structure representation and evolution. Our second grant, from 1995-1998, supported research in improving software quality through instrumented formal technical review, such as CSRS. Our third grant, from 1998-2001, supported Project LEAP. Our fourth grant, from 2002-2006, supported Project Hackystat.

 mic

The Pacific International Center for High Technology Research is an independent, not-for-profit, applied research and development center.
