Who gets the homework?

Some people are apparently somewhat justifiably confused about where homework
should be going. You should continue to turn in homework concerning class
presentations to me as usual. Materials concerning the VCommerce site (such as
the business plans to post) should go to Mette.

Homework: Procedures for Round 2 Company Formation

We are about at the end of Round 1, and I have already heard some exciting
plans from some people about what they want to do for Round 2. Here is the way
I would like to proceed.

1. Everyone in the class must turn in, either individually or as part of a
group, an email to me (in ASCII, not as an attached word document) containing a
brief one paragraph description of their plans for Round 2.

a. If you are part of a group of people who have already decided they want to
form or continue a company in Round 2, then you can submit one email to me,
indicating all of the group members, and providing the one paragraph
description. You can either indicate that you want to continue with one of the
Round 1 companies, and explain how you will improve it, or you can provide a
brief description of the new company you plan to create. No more than 4 people
can be in a company.

b. If you are not yet part of a group for Round 2, then you should submit an
email to me indicating that fact and providing an explanation of what your
skills are and the kind of company situation you would like to work in for
Round 2. If you want to do a company by yourself, that is perfectly fine as
well, just indicate that in the email.

These emails are due on MONDAY, MARCH 6. That's in three days!

On Tuesday I will review this information and make final decisions on new
companies. I cannot guarantee that all company assignments will be respected,
but I do not intend to go against your wishes unless there are good reasons to
do so. I may add additional members to companies, for example, so that
everyone who wants to be a part of a company will have that opportunity.

Acceptable imagery in VCommerce

We have had some very minor problems during Round 1 with some groups becoming a
little excessively, shall we say, "passionate" with respect to the promotion of
their site. This is just a friendly reminder that you need to keep your site
contents approximately PG-rated. Don't post anything you wouldn't mind your
mother (or the Governor of Hawaii) reading :-).
